A little history...The photo to the left was taken in 1997 when the then new Broadway High School was being built. The shelves and cabinets craved completed projects. Tables longed for creative, chatty students. The lights yearned to glow over inspiration and skill.

Mrs. Maddox

Mrs. Martha Maddox is a Shenandoah Valley native and a graduate of Broadway High School, Eastern Mennonite University and James Madison University. She began teaching at BHS in the Fall of 1985. She is the proud mother of a creative, intelligent young man who is a graduate student at McGill University in Montreal. With her husband, she enjoys hiking, gardening, tennis, traveling and visiting museums.

Ms. Somers

Ms. Brandy Somers was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley where she graduated a Gobbler, Class of 1999. She is the mother of two wonderful children and a photographer for multiple blogs, local magazines and the book Rocktown Food. Her favorite things to do on the weekends are hiking, making giant stacks of pancakes, visiting the Broadway Farmers Market and geeking out on the Colossal website for art class inspiration. She loves coffee, gray skies, clean rooms, cooking and Nutella w/peanut butter. <droooool>
